I have two cards to share with you today – both feature Stampin’ Up! Designer Series Paper. This is an idea that was shared with me by fellow demonstrator and friend, Renee Kohnke. Thanks, Renee for your inspiration!
My first card uses products from the Petal Passion Suite. Looks pretty straightforward – I used the designer paper, and the large floral image from the Petal Palette stamp set. I used Stampin’ Blends to color in the flower image.
The fun part of this card is when you open it -Rather than see a pink panel, you get to see the back side of the designer paper used! I love this idea – sometimes it’s hard to decide which side of our beautiful double sided designer paper to use – but in a card like this, we get to showcase and enjoy both sides!
To create this card, start with a base of Pink Pirouette card stock, measuring 5 1/2″ x 5, score at 4 1/4 along the 5″ side, creating a 3/4″ piece that becomes part of the card front.
The Designer Series Paper is cut 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″. This piece is attached to the the inside of the 3/4″ piece, and completes the card front. It is nestled right up against the score line of the card base.
Here is another card that uses the same layout, but with the Picture Perfect Party Suite.
My card base for this is card is Whisper White. The card is cut and scored as the first card I shared – but for this card, I added a piece of the Designer Paper onto the 3/4″ section- kind of like a sneak peek of what’s on the inside of the card.
And here is the inside of the card. Love how we can see the pretty back side of the designer paper I used on the card front!
I hope you will give this technique a try! I know it’s one I will use a lot! I have listed all the supplies for both of my projects at the end of this post.

I LOVE seeing the OTHER side of the paper! I've always glued it onto card stock. Love the pink, with the black and white!

What a great idea! Like you said, sometimes it's hard to decide which side of the paper to use, especially when both sides match so well with the cardstock that goes with the DSP paper. It also makes the inside of the card a lot more professional and interesting. Always looking for new ideas. Thanks for sharing
