I LOVE the Elegant Bird die from Stampin’ Up!

This is a simple little gift card/treat holder for Valentine’s Day and I love the vintage feel it has.

Steps Used to Create This:

I started with the Primrose Petals Core-dinations Card Stock and the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder. Using The Stampin’ Sanding System, I sanded the paper lightly, to give it a vintage, distressed look.

Next, Using my Big Shot, I cut two heart shapes using the large scallop heart from the Hearts Framelits. I used my sewing machine to stitch these two hearts together – but left an opening at the top to slip in a gift card or treat. Quick and Easy!!

For the bird, I used the Elegant Bird die with my Big Shot and cut a Crumb Cake body, and used First Edition paper for the wing.

I added some bling by using a strip of rhinestones from the Rhinestone Basic Jewels. They come with adhesive on them , so all I did was pull them off the sheet and placed them as a fun embellishment around her neck. Gotta have the bling!!

The small heart was cut using a scrap of Primrose Petals Core’dinations paper and the Hearts a Flutter framelits.

The little Happy Valentine’s Day stamp is from Teeny Tiny Wishes – a must have stamp set!

I attached my bird to a clothes pin that I had covered with First Edition Paper and sponged with crumb cake ink, and clipped her to the heart.

She can be removed to see the contents of the heart pouch – and I even took her off and placed her on this beautiful rose petal heart that I have hanging on a cupboard in my home.
